Why fresh reagent matters

Every chemical decision on a pool follows from a test result. Reagents lose strength as they age, and a tired bottle will read low or drift without ever looking obviously wrong. The correction that follows is then wrong too, and it costs more in chemicals than the refill would have.

Replacement interval

Taylor recommends replacing reagents every year. Restocking at the start of the season is the simplest way to be sure the numbers on the comparator can be acted on.
