SuperPro 200 Sq Ft Replacement Filter Cartridge for Predator, FC-0688

The SuperPro FC-0688 is a 200 square foot replacement filter cartridge for Predator cartridge filters. It is the element itself, the pleated media the whole filter depends on.

What the square footage means

Two hundred square feet is the rated filter area. More area means more surface for dirt to land on, which is what determines how long the filter runs between cleanings and how hard the pump has to work at the end of a cycle. Replacing like for like keeps the filter performing the way it was sized to.

When to replace rather than clean

Cartridges are washable, and rinsing the pleats out is normal maintenance. An element reaches the end of its life when a proper clean no longer brings the pressure down, when the fabric has thinned or torn, or when the pleats have collapsed against each other. At that point the cartridge is restricting flow rather than filtering, and a new one restores both.
