Pentair Kreepy Krauly Threaded Compression Adapter, K12079

The Pentair K12079 is the threaded compression adapter used across the Kreepy Krauly cleaner range. It is a molded plastic part carrying the Pentair number K12079.

Where it fits

Pentair lists this adapter for the Kreepy Krauly Classic from 2000 to the present, the 1994 to 1999 head, the 1993 and prior head, the Kreepy Kadet and the Kruiser K60400. That breadth is useful: one part number covers cleaners built decades apart.

Why it fails

A suction cleaner hose is twisted, coiled and dragged every time the pool is cleaned, and all of that movement is taken at the fittings. The adapter eventually cracks or strips at the thread. What the owner sees is a cleaner that has gone slow or dead, and the cause is air being drawn in at a split fitting rather than anything wrong with the head. It is a small enough part to keep a spare of.
