Pentair Impeller Washer, 71048

The Pentair 71048 is the impeller washer carried as C-71 for the C Series pump. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What it does

The washer sits in the stack that clamps the impeller onto the motor shaft. It is a small piece, but it sets how the load is spread when the impeller is tightened down. Fit the wrong thickness or leave it out and the impeller can work loose in service, which chews the shaft and turns a cheap repair into a motor.

Which pump

The source data places this part in two places. It is described as the C-71 washer for the C Series pump, and it also appears under the R Series 5 to 15 HP commercial pump parts. Because those are different families, match part number 71048 against your own pump parts breakdown rather than assuming from the pump name.

While you are in there

The rubber impeller washer gasket is a separate part. If the washer is worn or corroded, the gasket under it usually is too, and both are cheap next to a second teardown.
