What they are for

When a pool is closed, the return and suction lines are blown clear of water and then sealed so nothing can run back in. Water left in a line and allowed to freeze is what splits fittings and cracks plumbing, and a plug in each opening is the simple defense against it.

Build

They are made from corrosion resistant materials, which matters for a part that spends months sitting in a wet fitting, and are rated to withstand up to 15 psi.
