Hayward Star-Clear C250 Tie Rod, CX250Z2S

Hayward CX250Z2S is the tie rod for the Star-Clear cartridge filter, model C250. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What it does

The tie rod passes down the center of the filter and pulls the internal plates together so the cartridge element is held square and sealed. If the rod is bent, badly corroded or stripped where the nut lands, the element can shift under pressure and dirty water slips past it instead of going through the media.

Before you order

The Star Clear family shares a parts page across the C-250, C-500, C-750 and C-1000, and each tank takes its own rod length. CX250Z2S is the C250 part. Read the model off the label on the tank rather than guessing from its size.
