The Hayward HAXRSA1930 is the rollout switch kit for Hayward H-Series gas pool heaters. It is the genuine Hayward replacement part.

What the rollout switch does

A rollout switch is a heat sensing safety control mounted near the burners. In normal operation the flame stays inside the combustion chamber and the heat rises through the heat exchanger. If flame rolls out of the chamber instead, the switch senses the heat, opens, and shuts the heater down before the escaping heat can do damage.

Before you replace it

A tripped rollout switch is a warning, not the fault itself. Rollout usually traces to something like restricted venting or a heat exchanger clogged with soot, and a new switch will trip again until that cause is corrected. Replace the switch when it has failed, and have a qualified service technician find the reason for the rollout and handle the repair, since this is a safety control on a gas appliance.
