CompuPool Replacement Salt Cell for AutoPilot SC-36, RC-35/22 and PPC1, 5-Blade

The CompuPool GRC/AP/SC-36 is a generic replacement salt cell for AutoPilot systems, covering the SC-36, the RC-35/22 and the PPC1. It is a five blade cell dimensioned to AutoPilot plumbing, which makes it a straight swap into the existing pipe run instead of a plumbing job.

The two prong question

The cell has two prongs. AutoPilot cell cords are often three prong, and that combination worries people who have not seen it before. It works: the two prong cell connects to a three prong AutoPilot cord with nothing extra needed.

What comes with it, and what to add

Unions are included. A cell cord is not, and cords age alongside cells, so if yours has been in service as long as the cell it is worth changing both while the plumbing is open. Doing it in one visit is cheaper than doing it twice.

Warranty and the manufacturer

The cell carries a two year limited warranty, matching what AutoPilot offers on the PPC1. CompuPool has been in saltwater chlorination for more than 30 years, and the appeal of the generic cell is straightforward: the same job, at a lower cost than the factory part.
