Aladdin Generic Replacement 2″ O-Ring

The Aladdin O-43 is a generic replacement O-ring measuring 2-1/2 inches inside diameter, 2-3/4 inches outside diameter and 1/8 inch thick. It is sold as a 2 inch O-ring, which is the nominal trade size, and it is listed for the Hayward Super Star Clear cartridge filter.

Where it is used

Beyond the Super Star Clear filter line, the same ring is carried under Astral 2500 Terra and CEL filter parts. Because O-rings are matched by inside diameter and cross section rather than by equipment name, the safest check is to pull the old ring, measure it, and compare it against the sizes listed above.

Fitting it

Clean the groove and the sealing face before the new ring goes in, then wipe on a thin film of silicone based pool lubricant. That helps the ring seat evenly instead of rolling or pinching as the housing is tightened, and it makes the next service far easier. Petroleum grease should be kept away from pool rubber, since it swells the material.
