Century E-Plus B2841V1 Square Flange Full-Rated Pool Pump Motor, 1 HP

The Century B2841V1 is a 1 HP square flange pool and spa pump motor from the E-Plus line. It runs 3450 RPM on 115 or 208-230 V, in a 56Y frame with a threaded shaft.

Full-rated, and why that matters

Full-rated means the motor makes its 1 HP as its working rating rather than reaching it through the service factor. Two motors can both say 1 HP on the nameplate and not be the same motor. If the pump you are repairing came with a full-rated motor, replacing it with an up-rated one loses you flow.

The three things to check

Frame, flange and shaft decide whether a replacement motor works. This one is 56Y frame, square flange, threaded shaft. Compare all three against the motor coming off the pump, along with the horsepower and the voltage available at your pad.

Fitting

The threaded shaft takes a threaded impeller, which is the standard arrangement on the pumps this motor is built to replace. Replace the shaft seal whenever the motor comes off, since disturbing the old one is what turns a motor swap into a leak.
